Photography Studio in Venice

To work together it is essential to know each other, communicate, and trust one another. To start collaborating, each of us needs to get to know the other. This is us, but we can't wait to hear about you.

We are Glorija and Giacomo. Besides being working partners, we are also life partners. We have different characters that work well together, complementing each other.
Two sensibilities, two ways of interpreting beauty and the common desire to tell moments, stories and people in a spontaneous way. We work together but each of us has defined tasks, both at work . . . and at home!

Why Altripiani?

Altripiani began as a travel blog that gave a [narrative and] visual/photographic account of the different lifestyles we’d encounter across different mountain ranges of the world. In the blog, we’d share about the customs, traditions, and even more simply, about the daily lives of the people who live on the high plateaus and in the most remote villages. Over the years and these itineraries, we have grown and adapted, and have become two professional photographers thanks in no small part to our reportage work in the highlands.

For the curious and travel enthusiasts, here’s our original blog:

Fun facts

Get to know us!

  • Giacomo wishes he didn’t know Venice so well so he could get lost again
  • Glorija’s favorite word is habibi — “my love” in Arabic
  • On one of his many trips, Giacomo was offered to trade his camera for a truck: tempting, but impractical to bring a truck back home when you live in Venice
  • Glorija gets emotional at every wedding, crying at least once, even if she’s there on work!
  • Giacomo lost his passport in Turkey after a long night of hitchhiking. He thought he’d reached the end of his journey . . . but someone in a nearby village had given it to their mayor, who gave it back to Giacomo! And he continued his journey
  • Glorija has such a fear of dying of thirst that she walks around the house with water bottles. Of course, Giacomo never misses the opportunity to tease her!
  • We have learned to travel alone to remote places, but once in a while we also like to pamper ourselves and sleep on giant beds that look out onto palm trees
  • Once, in a remote corner of Ukraine, we both got severe food poisoning. Let’s just say that, from that moment on, all the awkwardness of being in a couple vanished instantly.
