I was born and grew up in a seaside town, but I love high altitude and mountain sports. Leaving Venice at dawn to get to the top of the Dolomites is a love story that first began with my family and now continues with many friends.

I practically live with my backpack on my back and am always ready for an adventure. I think that’s why I collect maps . . . And while we’re on the subject of backpacks: I have been pinned for displaying an almost maniacal care for this accessory. I like to stack every object inside it as orderly and as comfortably as possible. Indeed, it’s the same as in my job: I am precise, methodical, sometimes very fussy, attentive to lines, a stickler for details and in perpetual search of adrenalin.

I’ve worked now for some years in the field of social services, working with and alongside people with a myriad of different complicated life situations. Often, all I could do was listen to their stories. Sometimes I would write them down—not people’s names, just the web of complex dynamics that made up their situations—and after a time, I started to tell and interpret those stories through images I’d create. I experienced so many different kinds of situations and people during my time in social work, and now, when I look back, I realize it has given me an incredible advantage when it comes to learning and adapting to practically any type of situation; there’s always a plan B, C, and D!
